“Body language is a form of non-verbal communication, which consists of body posture, gestures, facial expressions, and eye movements.”
I observed my friend for a few weeks; I noticed all of his little quirks and his strange body language. When he is nervous or just thinking really hard he puts his hand over his face; when he lies he will not look you in the eye, he will simply look down or in a completely different direction; He wears his hood when he is uncertain of his situation; If he wants a kiss, he stares at you, smiles, looks down, and comes back for what he wants; If he is sad, he slumps, chain smokes, and he barely moves; When he feels guilt he hides in his hands and slumps over really far and continually rubs his face; If he’s scared, he shakes and trembles; if he’s excited he won’t stop smiling and tells me weird things he notices that no one in their right mind would. I could always tell what he was feeling or thinking just by the way he sat, looked around the room and just his overall appearance in general.
It is said that human communication is 93% body language. That means that a huge majority of human interactions and understanding isn’t even being said out loud. Everything you do with your body could mean something to someone else. Your own body language can reveal your emotions and feelings to others as well as other people’s body language can reveal the same to you. Giving and receiving body language is on an unconscious and conscious level. Body language isn’t exact, so don’t ever decide anything based on someone’s body language alone; things could be misunderstood for something else and taken the wrong way. The fact is that body language is a huge part of our human communication and it’s amazing how much we learn about each other from it.
