-Living in Dreamland

"Dreams are successions of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that occur involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep. Dreams are a connection to the human subconscious. They can range from normal and ordinary to overly surreal and bizarre. Dreams can often at times make a creative thought occur to the person or give a sense of inspiration. Dream imagery is often absurd and unrealistic, and the events in dreams are generally outside the control of the dreamer, with the exception of lucid dreaming. Dreamers are usually not self-aware in their dreams; thus the dreams may seem very real to them while asleep. Dreams can vary from frightening, exciting, magical, and melancholic to adventurous." (DreamLink)

Have you even woken up screaming because of a terrifying dream? Have you ever had such a wonderful dream that you woke up way to happy, only to forget what you dreamt about within the next 10 minutes? Of course, we all have. Dreams give one a sense of fantasy. Sometimes there are weird quirks for people’s dreams. Most people have many dreams that occur only once, some people have reoccurring dreams; some only dream in black and white; some dream in different languages; some only dream lucidly, where they know they are dreaming and they can control what happens within the dream. Dreams have a connection to psychosis, dissociation, and hallucinations. These are effects of certain illegal drugs as well. Are the drugs being abused boosting the part of your brain that creates dreams? In our dreams everything is crazy, maybe that’s just the conscious mind that crazy people actually live with. The mentally insane could possibly just be living in dreamland.
